The lukewarm church

Rev 3:14-22

Churches all over the world are experiencing different levels of revival.

The church in Africa especially Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya etc even Rwanda can be described as in the midst of great revival. It is being felt in all levels of society and people. The real impact in terms of bringing societal change still is lacking in many people’s eyes but maybe things may have become much worse if not for this.

The church in Europe is dieing. Many church halls have been converted to pubs or restaurants, night clubs some even to Mosques. The church is no longer feeling a sense of revival.

Laodicea was a rich city. City was known for being a banking center, producing high quality wool and its agriculture. It was so rich that after it was destroyed by an earthquake in AD 62, it was rebuilt by the city’s citizens. A big church council was held there in AD 361 but today the city is no longer in existence and there is certainly no Christian presence around that area any longer. Very likely due to the fact that they did not heed this warning from the Lord.
