Rebekah

In my study today, God spoke to me about Rebekah, the way she deceived Isaac into blessig Jacob rather than Esau. Terrible isn't it. Why did she do that? Was it because she'd been told that Jacob would be greater than Esau? Why did she feel she had to help God to make this happen? Is what she did wrong or right? I don't really know.

To me, it just reinforces the fact that God can use any twist and turn in life's situation to still fulfill His purpose... as long as we continue to look to Him. Make all the mistakes you make, try and manipulate it if you can but only just keep looking to God. Only then can you be assured that His will in your life will come to pass. If you look away and focus primarily on yourself, then you miss it... totally. Jacob never looked away from God even in all of His deceitful ways and so God fulfilled His purpose in his life.

When we try to help God it brings all sorts of heartaches and pains though. For instance, Jacob and Esau became enemies for a long time. Jacob himself learned the art of deception and then suffered same in his children later in life... so trying to help God will cause problems, sometimes generational problems so watch it!

Do we then not do anything but just wait and see what God will do? don't think so. We need to make a move with God in faith. Sometimes we'll miss it. The important thing is never to lose sight of God even in those times. He's always there anyway, He just needs our acknowledgment that we need His help and he'll move in massively. He'll take us through our mistakes and re-route our life so that His purpose will be achieved in the end.

He's a good God and I love Him and trust Him. Praise God.
